US Indian citizens got troubles

Killing Cases:

*The killing of Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla in an apparent hate crime in Kansas City left residents in shock and a majority of people in Olathe saying, “we are not like this”.

Events leading up to the incident on 22nd February  Wednesday evening also show that despite rising hate crimes across the country, many had stood up for the two Indians – Srinivas Kuchibhotla and Alok Madasani – when 51-year-old US navy veteran Adam Purinton tossed racial abuses before opening fire.

*A 43-year-old Indian-origin store owner in the United States has been shot dead outside his home, just days after an Indian engineer was killed in Kansas in a hate crime shooting that had sent shockwaves across the country.

Harnish Patel, 43, the owner of a convenience store in Lancaster County, South Carolina, was found dead of gunshot wounds in the front yard of his home on Thursday 2nd March 2017, coroner and police officials said.

Visa Issue :

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has frequently targeted India through his rhetoric, recently accusing India and China of taking unfair “advantage of the United States” and has used widely televised debates and pep rallies to pillory outsourcing. Indian business leaders are concerned that a Trump presidency could negatively impact the country.

India’s Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian told the Advancing Asia Conference hosted by the IMF: “My concern is that Trump in his last debate, said – ‘H-1B, whatever it is, I use it but I don’t like it. I want to scrap all H-1B visas.’ That’s very worrying for India’s export-led growth going forward.”
